Schenley Park

Schenley Park, immediately adjacent to the Pittsburgh campus, is the third-largest public park on the eastern seaboard, after New York's Central Park and Philadelphia's Fairmount Park.

This lovely park has 456 acres of rolling hills, woods, trails, a large botanical conservatory, a swimming pool, tennis courts, a golf course, a nature center, and an ice skating rink.

In spring 2006, a 10-acre former parking lot at the intersection of Bigelow Boulevard and Forbes Avenue was transformed into a grand entrance for Schenley Park.

This beautiful 10-acre urban parklet, called Schenley Plaza, contains four food kiosks, public performance space, landscaped gardens, and a carousel.
