By car ... from the East: Cars traveling from the east via the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) should take Exit 57 to I-376 West. From I-376 (the "Parkway East") take the "University of Pittsburgh/Oakland/Route 885 North" exit (Exit 3B) onto Bates Street. Stay on Bates until it ends at Bouquet Street, approximately eight-tenths of a mile. Turn left onto Bouquet, then right at the first light onto Forbes Avenue.

By public transportation:

Amtrak provides daily service from Pittsburgh to Cleveland, Chicago, Harrisburg, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., via the Capitol Limited and the Three Rivers. Call 1-800-USA-RAIL (800-872-7245) for fare and schedule information.

Greyhound Lines, Inc. operates frequent service to Pittsburgh's main bus terminal, located Downtown at 11th Street and Liberty Avenue. The Pittsburgh Campus can be reached by local PAT buses or by taxi service. Call 1-800-231-2222 for fare and schedule information.

Port Authority of Allegheny County operates the mass transit system serving metropolitan Pittsburgh, including the Pittsburgh Campus. Fares vary within a five-zone system extending in all directions from Downtown Pittsburgh to the outer suburbs. Basic fare is $2. Exact change is required. Transfers can be purchased for a quarter, and can be used for one connection in any direction within three hours of the time of purchase; riders pay as they enter on inbound trips toward Downtown Pittsburgh, and pay as they exit on outbound trips before 7:00 p.m. After 7:00 p.m., riders must pay as they enter on all trips. Bus service to the Oakland area is frequent; local buses numbered 71 (1, B, C, or D), 67 (A or F), or 61 (A, B, or C) come into Oakland and may be boarded along Fifth Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh. Yellow Cab (412-665-8100) and People’s Cab (412-441-3200) provide service to the Oakland area. Fares from Downtown are approximately $7, and fares from the airport are approximately $30.

BRADFORD CAMPUS
Follow I-579 North (Crosstown Boulevard) to I-279 North. Take I-279 North to I-79. Follow I-79 North to I-80 East. Exit at Shippenville and follow State Route 66 North to Kane; then take U.S. Route 6 East to U.S. Route 219. Take U.S. 219 North to Bradford and follow signs to the campus.

Approximate distance and time to Bradford Campus: About 170 miles or four hours.

GREENSBURG CAMPUS
Follow the directions below to the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76). Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 67 at Irwin. Follow U.S. Route 30 East for about nine miles. (Do not exit into downtown Greensburg. U.S. Route 30 bypasses the city.) Leave U.S. 30 at the "Greensburg-Mt. Pleasant" exit. At the stop sign at foot of ramp, turn right and follow Mt. Pleasant Road for about three-quarters of a mile. The campus will be on your right.

Approximate distance and time to the Greensburg Campus: About 35 miles or one hour, depending on traffic.

JOHNSTOWN CAMPUS
Follow the directions below to the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76). Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 110 at Somerset. From Somerset, take U.S. Route 219 North to the Elton exit. Follow the signs to campus. (Alternate route: You may take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 67 at Irwin, and then follow U.S. Route 30 East to U.S. 219 North toward Johnstown, and then follow U.S. 219 North to the Elton exit. Follow the signs to campus.)

Approximate distance and time to the Johnstown Campus: About 80 miles or 1.5 hours.

TITUSVILLE CAMPUS
Follow the directions below marked "Points West." Take I-79 North to I-80 East, and then to State Route 8 (Exit 3 at Baikeyville). Follow Pa. 8 North into Titusville and follow the signs to campus.

Approximate distance and time to the Titusville Campus: About 125 miles or three hours.

Take Fifth Avenue toward Downtown Pittsburgh, staying in the left lane (closest to the bus lane). Turn left on Craft Avenue. Proceed on Craft Avenue in the left lane. Cross over Forbes Avenue.

At the next traffic light, turn left onto the Boulevard of the Allies. Proceed on the Boulevard of the Allies, staying to the right, to the second traffic light and turn right onto Bates Street.

Proceed on Bates Street and follow the signs for I-376 East ("Monroeville"). Exit onto I-376 East and follow the signs for the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Approximate distance and time to Pennsylvania Turnpike: About eight miles or 20 minutes. (Allow additional time during afternoon rush hours.)

Take Fifth Avenue toward Downtown Pittsburgh, staying in the second lane from the bus lane. Turn left on Craft Avenue. Continue down Craft Avenue for one block in the far right-hand lane. This lane must turn right onto Forbes Avenue. Turn right onto Forbes Avenue and continue straight until you reach a stop sign.

At the stop sign, make a right-hand turn onto the Boulevard of the Allies. Continue on the Boulevard of the Allies in the right-hand lane. Follow the signs for I-376 West marked "Fort Pitt Bridge/Downtown." This lane will bring you to a merge point with I-376 West. Once on I-376 West, get into the second lane from the left. This will be the lane for I-279 South ("Airport"). Follow this sign and remain in this lane.

Continue on I-279 South onto the Fort Pitt Bridge and through the Fort Pitt Tunnel. Follow I-279 South for several miles.

The exit for I-79 North or South will be on your right.

To get to Pittsburgh International Airport, proceed on I-279 South.
